Movies Will Never Be The Same After Avatar

I thought that an Avatar was a computer generated representation referring to the personality connected with the screen name or alias, of an Internet user. Apparently it's much more than just a Mii, 3D graphic or custom signature as I discovered when I took my children to watch the movie Avatar..

Avatar is a 2009 American film that is a science fiction epic, written and directed by James Cameron. The film is set in the year 2154 on Pandora, a fictional world in a distant planetary system. Humans are engaged in mining Pandora's reserves of a precious mineral, while the Na'vi—a race of indigenous humanoids—resist the colonists' expansion, which threatens the continued existence of the Na'vi and the Earth-like Pandoran ecosystem. The film's title refers to a genetically engineered body called an avatar, that looks and functions like a Na'vi body, but is controlled remotely by the mind of a human.

What do I think and more importantly what were the children's reaction to this almost three hour movie? Incredible, in 3D this was amazing and I feel that this is the benchmark now! As Mike Arrington states movies will never be the same after Avatar. Like the iPhone in the mobile world, this movie disrupts an entire industry. I’m going to go see it again next week at an IMAX theater with a date and I may take my children at the weekend again! You need to experience this movie..
