NME Radar Tour

NME Radar Tour Koko LondonImage by Magnus D via Flickr
Active Child, Darwin Deez, Everything Everything and Hurts played live at Koko's in London last night as part of NME's Radar tour. I wasn't going to miss the opportunity to see Darwin Deez perform again, Everything Everything's single My Keys Your Boyfriend has been a firm favourite for 2010 and I was excited about Hurts. I travelled to the event with my partner, on route to the venue I realised that I had managed to forget the tickets but thankfully this didn't create an issue. Once inside we were greeted by Active Child, the set was just finishing so we didn't get to fully appreciate his soaring vocals, synths and the sounds of the harp echoing around Koko. After visiting the bar, we made our way to the front stage area where we found people that I met at the album launch at the Black Heart, Camden.

After a brief interlude Darwin Deez took to the stage, their energetic performance didn't disappoint and I could see that my partner was impressed. I have been describing for weeks about what to expect and the Deez provided an amazing show. I even managed to execute a cartwheel through the crowd which I thought was an achievement! Everything Everything were next and I can't wait until the album is released because there were several tracks that I thought were solid! Hurts provided the finale and I was impressed with their stage presence and style. Afterwards we travelled to the Camden Barfly, this was for the Foals after party and Darwin Deez DJ set. We occupied the DJ booth but didn't last the duration, I was proud to hear that someone would like to have a girlfriend as beautiful as mine as we headed for the exit. She's definitely the fairest of them all..
