The End For Traditional Broadcast Television?

England play Ukraine at the weekend, although due to the collapse of Setanta the match will be shown exclusively live over the internet. It will be streamed online rather than broadcast on TV which hopefully won't be the beginning of the end for traditional broadcast television.

I suppose that it was inevitable that this would eventually be considered although we're used to high definition and streaming doesn't provide the same visuals. Perform are the company responsible for streaming the match and they have agreed a deal with Kentaro to provide the match for a minimum fee of £4.99. It's definitely expensive following football and I'm intrigued to see how the Internet debut is received!
