Several sources are reporting that Google will partner with Lala, iLike and 'Others' to launch a new music service. The announcement date is Wednesday, October 28, 2009! Google have sent out invitations to the event and the information available at the moment indicates that this service will be integrated into Search!
The invitation, titled “Discover Music!” says announcements will be followed by performances, and that Lala, iLike “& Others” are hosting. The “& Others” includes Google, we’ve heard from multiple sources, and the new service will be unveiled. All four major music services are backing the service.
I have really embraced Spotify and Last.fm lately so this service will have to provide something really amazing and innovative. The portfolio of products and services from Google continues to expand all the time. One ring to rule them all or are they spreading themselves to thinly across too many areas?!
